After a rocky few years, Tatum O'Neal is looking on the bright side.
The Oscar-winning actress and former child star, who had a stroke in 2020 following a drug overdose, shared a rare photo of herself on social media Friday, Oct. 16.
The Instagram selfie showed the "International Velvet" star, 62, sitting in a red leather chair and smiling for the camera. "Hope," O'Neal wrote alongside a red heart emoji.
O'Neal, the daughter of Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O'Neal, had a near-fatal stroke in May 2020 after overdosing on morphine, opiates and pain medication. She was in a coma for six weeks.
In a 2023 People magazine interview, O'Neal said she "almost died" and couldn't speak when she came out of the coma. The "Bad News Bears" star said at the time that she was in recovery and had spent two years working to regain her memory.
