Steve-O says Jackass: Best and Last will mark the end of the franchise after more than two decades
The new movie features previously unseen footage and serves as a final reunion for the cast
Steve-O reflects on his career, saying he's ready for a quieter life after years of stunt work
Steve-O has been along for the wild ride that has been Jackass since its inception in 1999, but that journey is soon coming to an end.
The stunt performer, whose real name is Stephen Glover, shared in a new interview with Playboy that he truly believes the latest installment of the franchise, Jackass: Best and Last, will be its last.
"Oh yeah. One hundred percent it's the end," he told the outlet.
Steve-O, 52, first joined the crew, led by Johnny Knoxville, right before MTV picked up the series in 2000. He has worked on the show and the subsequent movies intermittently since, amid struggles with drug and alcohol addiction and a stint in rehab. Now, the franchise is coming to a close with its sixth official movie.

But the performer feels like the end really came years earlier.
"Really, the end of Jackass was when [Johnny] Knoxville got hit by that bull in the last movie [Jackass Forever, 2022]," Steve-O said. "That was the f---ing final hit for Knoxville's head. Had to be. If Knoxville is no longer willing to get hit in the head, you really can't do Jackass."
In addition to the five existing movies in the series, the franchise includes two "half" movies which simply feature behind-the-scenes material that didn't make it into earlier iterations.

"What made this movie happen was this lump sum of footage that had never been allowed to be shown anywhere," he said. "I genuinely don't know why it's allowed now, but it's in there. That's what this movie is: finding a home for such f---ed-up shit that never had a home, and one last hurrah of all of us getting together and doing whatever we have in us to do."
Steve-O continued, "I had my own little private screening in the edit bay last week, and I was beyond moved. Like, wow. What I was a part of. What I am a part of. F---ing insane."
The performer admitted to the outlet that while in the past he saw his stunt work as a "ticket to immortality," he's ready for a quieter life now.
“It's really weird to say, and I've never said it before, but I think I'm at a point where I'm pretty comfortable not seeking attention," he said. "This is wild. But yeah. I've put in my work. I've got myself in a place where I can take care of the people I want to take care of. I can take on a bunch of f---ing animals and help them.”
