Carly Pearce and Kristin Chenoweth teamed up to deliver one of the most exciting moments of “CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton," the two-hour live TV tribute held in Nashville on Oct. 21. The country star and Broadway legend sang "9 to 5."
With the stage bathed in bright hues of pink and blue, the two expert performers captured the fun-loving spirit of the song, which has made the upbeat work-life anthem Parton's most enduring tune.
Chenoweth best known for her time playing Glinda the Good Witch in "Wicked" on Broadway, she also has deep country music roots. She was joined by hitmaker Carly Pearce, who got her first singing gig at Dollywood and was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry by Parton in a 2021 surprise.

The two stars went back and forth on the high-energy hit, walking the stage with a giant golden disco ball on the screen behind them. As the song wrapped up, they ended standing back to back for a big finish.
Pearce and Chenoweth were just two of many artists to celebrate Parton at the two-hour live TV special. From classic country legends and current superstars to bluegrass and Broadway performers, Ashley McBryde, Béla Fleck, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Kelsea Ballerini, Kristen Bell, Lady A, Lainey Wilson, Little Big Town, Lukas Nelson, Molly Tuttle, Reba McEntire, Ricky Skaggs, Sierra Hull, Vince Gill and Zac Brown were also on the bill.
“CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton" aired live on ABC and Disney+ in the U.S. and internationally, and was set to be available on Hulu the following day. Proceeds from the event were set to benefit Parton's Imagination Library.
