Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of High Potential.
The ABC crime comedy was renewed for a third season in March 2026, ahead of its season 2 finale. However, new episodes won’t air until the 2027 midseason — a delay that marked a major change in the series production schedule.
“We want to give viewers a chance to watch these shows with as little interruption as possible across the season,” Ari Goldman, senior vice president of content strategy and scheduling at ABC, told Deadlinein May 2026. “I think we have such amazing momentum at the start of 27 to bring the show back in a big way.”
Though no one wants to wait that long to see Kaitlin Olson reprise her role as genius single mom and police consultant Morgan Gillory, Goldman shared that the High Potential’s fanbase was strong enough to withstand the hiatus. “Clearly, the show is resilient,” he said, pointing to the season 1 to season 2 viewership increase that was the network’s biggest since Glee.
To hold you over until Morgan and the rest of the LAPD Major Crimes Division come back, here are five behind-the-scenes photos of High Potential season 3.
