Fox News anchor Sean Hannity has responded to concerns about his recent appearance, explaining why he suddenly has a puffy face and a raspy voice.

Hannity took to X on Wednesday (June 24) after several social media users and members of the press commented on his appearance. The longtime broadcaster thanked people for their concerns but assured them his recent ailments were a result of medication.

"Thanks to everyone who has checked in," he wrote. "I've already addressed this several times on my radio show, but while training, I developed a painful pinched nerve in my neck. My doctor put me on prednisone to reduce the inflammation, and while it's helping, it led to laryngitis and some puffiness, which is normal for this medication."

He continued, "I'm fine, recovering well, and still training, but apparently a few weeks of prednisone has generated more social media commentary than 30 years of ratings success. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes—including from members of the left-wing media."

The news host previously opened up about his health on his radio show, revealing that he originally rejected taking prednisone. "I actually went to a doctor, and what he said is I had a bad sinus infection, which led to laryngitis, and I didn't wanna take this crappy medicine called prednisone, and so he just said to ride it out, don't worry about it, you're not hurting your vocal cords at all," Hannity said, per Deadline.

After his appearance on Fox News earlier in the week, clips of Hannity soon went viral, with many asking what was going on with his face. The Daily Show's Josh Johnson also poked fun during Tuesday's (June 23) show, quipping, "I have never seen white cheeks that big that hadn't been rapped about."

"I'm not trying to make fun of his looks or anything, but I mean, is he auditioning for a new Chipmunks movie, where Alvin eats Simon and Theodore?" he added, per TheWrap. "I bet you squirrels look at Hannity like, how my nuts taste?"
