Nara Smith is cooking up her latest endeavor. On April 28, Deadline announced that Smith would be joining the ranks of the cast of the upcoming Amazon MGM thriller Tyrant. Smith joins the ensemble — which is led by Charlize Theron, Julia Garner and Demi Moore — with Hudson Williams, who is the breakout star of the hit Crave series Heated Rivalry; musician Omar Apollo, who also acted in the 2024 film Queer; and Paapa Essiedu, who is known for his role as Kwame in the HBO show I May Destroy You. While roles and character details remain unconfirmed, the film is reported to be set within New York City's elite fine-dining scene — fitting for Smith, who is known online for her viral, calming cooking content. Filming will take place in Los Angeles, beginning this year.Smith, who is also a model, recently announced that she would be releasing a cookbook on Monday, April 20. The cookbook, her debut, will be called Homemade, and is set for release on Oct. 13.

In a video announcing the release, the model shared that her collection of recipes combines foods she ate while growing up in Germany and meals she's cooked for her husband, Lucky Blue Smith, "that he begged me to write down." She added that the book also includes input from her online fans. "Of course I've seen your guys' comments and messages about recipes that you really have been wanting," said Smith.

Speaking with Vanity Fair about the launch of the cookbook, Smith also touched on her associations with the "tradwife" lifestyle trend, which centers around women occupying traditional roles of domesticity, typically while their husbands work as sole financial supporters of the family."I've never quite understood where that title [tradwife] comes from because I don't know what is traditional about our life," Smith said. "I am a full-time working mom. I work; so does Lucky. It's a modern relationship." She noted that people may have come to that conclusion since she makes so many cooking videos in her kitchen, but she maintained it's an inaccurate interpretation of her content.

"Cooking is my love language. It's a hobby of mine and it's my job. It's not something that I'm condemned to do," said Smith, who is mom to son Slim Easy, 4, and daughters Rumble Honey, 5, Whimsy Lou, 2, and Fawnie Golden, whom she and Lucky welcomed in September 2025.The TikTok star has previously addressed the idea that she's a tradwife since the term went viral about two years ago. In a wide-ranging interview with Harper's Bazaar in August 2024, she again stated that she identified as "a working mom," not a stay-at-home wife. She also emphasized that her social media content is "really not that deep."
