MUNA is safe after their tour bus caught on fire in Los Angeles on Monday, Oct. 19.
The fire occurred while the indie pop band was traveling southbound on the 5 Freeway in Burbank, Calif., on Monday around 8:20 a.m. local time, KTLA reported. The Burbank Fire Department responded to the scene and contained the fire.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the outlet reported.
PEOPLE has reached out to the Burbank Fire Department and California Highway Patrol.
The band posted an aerial shot of themselves as seen on KTLA.
“The band MUNA as seen on the news this morning,” the photo was captioned on Instagram. “Many personal items were lost but we’re all safe, thank goodness ❤️🩹.”
The incident comes just over a month after the group’s guitarist, Naomi McPherson, announced they would miss part of the band’s fall tour to prioritize time with their mother.

The indie pop trio — made up of Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin and McPherson — announced on Sept. 15 that McPherson, 33, would miss multiple shows at the beginning of the Gets So Hot tour to spend time with their mother Harriet, who had terminal cancer and was in her “final days.”
“Tragically, Naomi’s mother Harriet has been suffering for some time now from an extremely aggressive and terminal form of cancer that has escalated in severity over the past few weeks,” MUNA said in the statement. “Now, it has become clear that her passing will coincide with the beginning of this headline tour.”
The “Silk Chiffon” performers added that all tour dates will go on as scheduled, with a musician filling in for the absent member.
Following the death of their mother, McPherson later returned to the tour on Sept. 29.
Amid the recent personal upheaval, McPherson commented on the band’s post about the bus fire, jokingly writing, “If anyone could help me find the grandchild of the warlock whose curse is wreaking havoc on my life so that i can carry em up the mountain & fulfill the prophecy / undo the curse that has befallen me that would be much appreciated.”
