Grant Show will never forget one man’s reaction to him being his girlfriend’s favorite actor.
The Melrose Place star, 64, appeared with costars Daphne Zuniga, Laura Leighton, Heather Locklear, Rob Estes and Jack Wagner in a panel at 90s Con 2026 moderated by PEOPLE executive editor Breanne L. Heldman, at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Conn., on Sunday, Oct. 18.
A fan asked the cast about memorable interactions with other devotees of the hit ‘90s soap opera, which was created by Darren Star and produced by Aaron Spelling. The show, which aired for seven seasons from 1992 to 1997, followed the lives of young adults living in a West Hollywood, California, apartment complex.
Sharing his story, Show said, “It wasn’t a fan, but I was at a nightclub. It was a couple sitting behind me. She was a fan of the show and a fan of Jake’s and she kept paying a lot of attention to me.”

“I turned around and I could tell that her boyfriend was really not very happy about me,” he laughed. “I did what I would do, which was introduce myself to him and try to give him a lot of attention.”

In an effort to be friendly, Show said that he extended his hand for a handshake. “I said, ‘My name is Grant. What’s your name?’ He took my hand, bit it,” he revealed, adding, “So I took my hand back.”
“He has such big hands,” Locklear joked, to which Show said, “Big hands, big feet, big disappointment,” leading the audience to erupt with laughter.

At another point of the panel, Estes talked about how some of his favorite scenes from the TV show were with Locklear, and shared that “my favorite, romantic or sexual scene was with Heather —It wasn’t Heather, it was Amanda,” he said, clarifying his reference to her character, Amanda Woodward, who joined the show in season 2.
“I already had a crush on Heather and Amanda. It was just funny that was her. It was cool too because, back then, I think it was a little more relaxed. Like we’d have fun and joke and it’s like now is a different time,” he acknowledged. “Now there’s a lot of people on set that, you know, things happen a certain way, and fair enough. I think we were all so comfortable with each other, so for a lot of the love scenes...it was just fun.”
