These days, the cast of the Harry Potter films wields more diapers than magic wands.

It's been 25 years since the first movie in the franchise hit theaters in 2001. Leading men Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint are among the former Harry Potter stars who are now parents, and they've fully embraced fatherhood.

"It's a crazy thing, but it's also really beautiful," Radcliffe told E! News in July 2023 of becoming a parent."Watching my girlfriend become a mum is really the most incredible, beautiful thing to be witness to. So, it's great."

Some of the films' actors are even taking parenting cues from the series' characters, like Bonnie Wright, who played the youngest Weasley sibling, Ginny. Wright now has one child and another on the way, telling PEOPLE in May 2025 that her admiration for Molly (Julie Walters) and Arthur Weasley (Mark Williams) — the on-screen parents of seven — had only grown.

"I've gone on to be very, very committed to amplifying a lot of stuff around the climate and our environment, and I feel like the Weasleys, to me, are probably the most sustainable magical family ever," the English actress said, adding, "Molly Weasley is definitely an environmentalist. So I think what she stands for, what the Weasleys stand for, I'm like, 'Oh, well, I need to parent more like the Weasleys.' "

From Radcliffe and Grint to Wright and eight more of their costars, learn all about the growing families of the Harry Potter cast.

Daniel Radcliffe

Radcliffe played Harry Potter. He and his girlfriend, actress Erin Darke, welcomed their son in April 2023. They have not shared their child's name publicly.

The Tony Award winner spoke of his love for fatherhood, telling Extra in July 2023 that his then-3-month-old son was "very cute."

"It's been a crazy few months, as anyone who's been through parenthood would attest," Radcliffe said. "But it's also the literal best thing that's ever happened, so it's great."

Radcliffe hopes his "incredible" son never realizes his dad is famous — though he already had one close call when a commercial for his Broadway play Every Brilliant Thing popped up on screen as the family was watching the 2026 Winter Olympics.

"I had walked out of the room, and suddenly the ad for the show came up, and he's never seen anything I've done or been aware of any of that stuff," the Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkinsstar told PEOPLE in May 2026. "He just goes, with the tone of voice that was like, 'I'm not crazy, right?' He just goes, 'Dada?' Then he was like, 'Did he leave?' Because he thought because I left the room that I had then suddenly appeared on the TV."

"You know your job is a bulls--- job when you can't describe it to a child," he continued. As an actor. You know you can explain policeman and fireman and doctor and stuff like that. But when you get to acting, you're like, 'Yeah, we tell stories, you know, like your books. We sort of act out your stories,' " he continued. "He's truly so far away from having a concept of what I do, and I'm going to keep him in the dark as long as possible."

Grint, who portrayed Harry Potter's best friend Ron Weasley in the series, and actress Georgia Groome have been dating since 2011 and are parents of two daughters: Wednesday G. Grint and Goldie G. Grint.

The actor revealed on The Tonight Showin March 2022 that his firstborn, who made him a dad in May 2020, was named after the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family.

Grint also shared that his little girl learned one of her first words on set with him. "She spends a lot of time in my dressing room when I'm doing my lines for [Servant], and my character says the F-word a lot, and now she just says it whenever she's excited," he told host Jimmy Fallon. "We were at the toy store today, and she was just walking around dropping it."

Wednesday was the one to bring Grint to Instagram. His debut post in November 2020 was a sweet selfie with his little girl that now has 4 million likes.

"Hey Instagram….only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint," the Harry Potter alum captioned the post.

In April 2025, Grint announced that he and Groome had welcomed their second child, daughter Goldie. "'Secret Child Slightly Revealed' Introducing Goldie G. Grint. ⭐️ A 10/10 baby (so far)," he captioned the announcement on Instagram, which featured a photo of the newborn wearing a gray cardigan sweater over a white onesie embroidered with her name in gold letters.

Fatherhood has been a fabulous role for Grint, as he told Entertainment Tonight in December 2021: "I'm absolutely loving being a dad. It's just the best thing."

Waterhouse announced the birth of their baby in April 2024 via Instagram. That July, she posed on the cover of British Vogue with her daughter.

While visiting the Today show in September 2024, the "Moves" singer praised Pattinson as the "greatest" dad and said that while she changes most of the diapers, the Twilight actor is great at it, too.

"Diaper changing ... he really excels at that and enjoys it. He thinks it's fun. The surprise, and everything," Waterhouse said.

Pattinson later confirmed that he's "an expert" at the skill, "like, the stealth nappy when the baby doesn't even know they've had their nappy changed," he told Extra in February 2025. He also shared that his daughter has been "the most incredible sleeper since birth."

In October 2025, Pattinson got candid about fatherhood, telling Icon Magazine that he now has "so much more patience."

"It's funny, it's not even patience; I genuinely enjoy hanging out with babies. That surprised me," he said, adding, "It's also funny how you start having real, normie conversations — about things like schools or daycares ... it's so strange. It's like, there's this gravitational pull ... Like, I have to wear Patagonia puffer jackets and cargo shorts now. I just have to."

Wright told PEOPLE in May 2025 that motherhood has "for sure" shaped the way she interprets the story of Harry Potter. What hits the hardest now is "just that idea, especially, of Harry not having his parents, and kind of how heartbreaking that must be to imagine [for] your own child."

Still, what house would the Sorting Hat place her son into? "I thought Elio was a Hufflepuff, but I'm not sure now. I'm hoping he'll be a Slytherin, but I also can't project," Wright told PEOPLE in September 2024. "I've got to let him be himself."

In April 2026, Wright announced on Instagram that she was expecting her second child.

"Two babies on my lap 🐣 our second little earthling joining us this autumn!!" she captioned a sweet slideshow of Elio lounging on a couch with his mom.
