The donkey was on the run alongside a runaway horse in the coastal town, and people tried to rein Freddy in and bring him under control, the Cuxhaven Police Department said, per AP.
Two motorists tried to hold Freddy, but he then forced himself onto the vehicle and “became very aggressive” before kicking and biting the pair and a third person, The Independent reported. A 33-year-old woman was the third victim who attempted to restrain the animal.

Freddy was later restrained when his owner arrived, local outlet Vijesti reported. The woman sustained injuries that required hospital treatment, while the two motorists sustained minor injuries.
“The reason for the animal’s aggressive reaction is still unclear,” Cuxhaven police said in a statement, according to AP.
