From pistachio and clementine to raspberry and Biscoff, fashion loves a good food-inspired color trend. And this summer has been all about grape purple and tomato red. First seen on the Prada Spring/Summer 2026 runway and fully embraced by the following season (Celine, Valentino, and Chloé all offered up some delicious pairings), the unexpected combo has since been worn by the likes of Dua Lipa and Zoey Deutch. And now, Katie Holmes is getting on board.

On Thursday night, the Dawson’s Creek actor and her boyfriend, artist Jason Bard Yarmosky, continued their summer streak of Hamptons galas at a dinner celebrating Michael Kors’s 45th anniversary collection. And for the occasion, Holmes styled the designer’s purple satin tank dress with a pair of red leather shoes.

Crafted from luminous amethyst satin with a mid-length hem, the minimalist dress featured a frayed sleeveless bodice and romantic draping, making for an easy, timeless, and sculptural piece. The actor gave the shiny purple number the grape-tomato treatment with her little heels, defined by their bright red hue and blunt square toe.

For a full color-blocked ensemble, she carried a white leather envelope clutch from royal-favorite label Strathberry, with gold-toned hardware detailing. Next to her, Yarmosky went with a monochrome black fit, leaving the bold shades to his girlfriend.

The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in July 2026, were joined at the event by the likes of Naomi Watts, Carolyn Murphy, and mother-daughter model duo Christie Brinkley and Sailor Brinkley Cook.
