Howard Stern’s staffers have made yet another revelation about him and his “cult-like atmosphere” at the studio. Reflecting on Stern’s “cost-cutting” measures, the insider revealed how he fired 12 workers.
Further discussing NDAs and workers allegedly being forced to sign or resign, Stern’s staffers described the reportedly brutal working culture. The revelation comes amid rumors that one of Stern’s longtime SiriusXM channels could be inching closer to cancellation.
Howard Stern’s Staff Expose ‘Cult-Like Atmosphere’ at Workplace
Speaking with Radar Online, an anonymous staff member working under Howard Stern revealed the current situation at work. Discussing how Stern has been coldly overseeing the “cost-cutting” methods, the staffer reflected on the firing process.
According to the insider, the star has reportedly fired a significant number of employees, despite himself reportedly taking home $100 million a year.
Further discussing the strict policies that employees working under Stern must follow, the insider mentioned: “People were warned before any company parties not to speak to Howard.”
They added that the ominous warning came “with the added note that people have actually gotten fired for it.” Discussing other methods of establishing fear among workers, the staffer said Stern forced people to sign NDAs, and those who refused were fired.
“I think that a lot of them acted out to get that attention. You go into that compound, and it’s just pictures of Howard everywhere,” they said. The insider added, “And it all seems light and fun, but once you step back, you see it as something else.”
Stern Reportedly Spirals as One of His Channels Faces Being Axed
Meanwhile, the staffer’s revelation comes as Howard Stern faces the most stressful chapter of his career. According to reports from The Sun, one of Stern’s channels on SiriusXM is reportedly at risk of being discontinued.
The channel reportedly at risk of being axed is the Howard 101 channel, which is home to old interviews and clips.

“A lot of the staff who were laid off in the first round worked for his 101 channel,” a source explained.
The source added, “Now, since they gutted the team, it seems more than likely that Sirius will be keeping the main Howard 100 channel and ultimately parting ways with 101.”
Discussing where the content from that channel might go, the source mentioned that it’ll be shifted to Stern’s other channel, Howard 100.
“Soon, since there is so little new content, production will be forced to fill Howard 100 with archival clips,” they shared.
Reflecting on this change, a source told Globe, “Howard has begrudgingly accepted that it’s time to scale things back, but now there are all these rumors that [the Howard 101 channel] may end up flat-out cancelled, and that’s doing nothing for his mood.”
They added, “He still wants to work and he wants to go out on his terms. So having to play this waiting game where he feels like the bosses are holding his future in their hands and capriciously deciding his fate is a nightmare.”
