Fox News was halted as first lady Melania Trump stunned viewers by appearing alongside her husband at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in downtown Washington, D.C., on Sunday, Aug. 23.

After a roughly month-long disappearance from the public spotlight, Melania, 56, exited the presidential limo with President Donald Trump, 80, on Sunday. Fox News aired the moment they arrived for the race that has converted the nation's capital into an IndyCar speedway.

She was seen stepping out of the limo with her husband to shake hands with racing officials. This marks a notable appearance with Donald as she seemed to take a step back from the White House over the summer.

Melania stepped out of the vehicle wearing a white button-down top tucked into black slacks, paired with black pointed-toe flats.

Other members of the Trump family attended the event, including Donald Trump Jr. and his wife, Bettina, Eric and Lara Trump, and some of the president's grandchildren.

The president's family members could be seen standing in the background of the Fox News clip as Melania and Donald arrived to the race. The president's executive assistant Natalie Harp was spotted smiling as she stood next to Eric.
