Madonna turned her lavish 68th birthday escape to Greece into a spiritual pilgrimage – making a private visit to ancient monasteries as the Queen of Pop approaches her seventh decade.
RadarOnline.com can reveal the superstar chartered a private jet to Corfu for a week-long celebration with family and friends before taking a helicopter to the Eastern Orthodox monasteries of Meteora.

Madonna, whose spirituality reportedly deepened after she became seriously ill with sepsis in June 2023, also arranged a private meeting with Father Benedict at the Monastery of Varlaam.
A source close to the singer claimed: "There has been a noticeable shift in what these occasions represent to Madonna. She still loves bringing together the people closest to her and creating something spectacular, but this birthday wasn't simply about luxury, parties and celebrating another year. There was a much more contemplative side to the trip.
"Coming through such a serious health crisis three years ago forced her to confront her own mortality in a way she had never experienced before, and that has inevitably changed how she looks at life."
"With 70 no longer feeling particularly distant, she is thinking much more deeply about where she has been, what she believes in, and what she wants the next chapter of her life to look like," the insider continued.
"Her faith and spirituality have become increasingly important parts of that. The Greece trip allowed her to combine the extravagance people associate with Madonna with something intensely personal – taking time away from everything to reflect, reconnect spiritually, and appreciate simply being here. She has basically found God as she heads towards 70, and it's understandable."
Inside Madonna's Private Monastery Visit

Another source said: "Madonna was adamant that the visit to Meteora should feel nothing like another stop on a celebrity vacation. She wanted to experience it quietly and respectfully, without an entourage turning the occasion into a production or attracting unnecessary attention.
"She was fascinated by the history of the monasteries, the extraordinary landscape and the generations of religious devotion associated with the place, and she devoted several hours to understanding it all rather than simply flying in for photographs."
They continued, "Her time at the Monastery of Varlaam was particularly important to her. The private meeting there was something she regarded as deeply personal and spiritual, and she wanted to protect that intimacy.
"It was almost the opposite of everything else surrounding the birthday – away from the private jets, yacht, beautiful villa, and celebrations, this was an opportunity for Madonna to strip everything back, reflect on her faith, and spend time somewhere that has represented devotion and contemplation for centuries."

Meteora's spectacular monasteries, constructed on towering rock formations in central Greece, provided a dramatic contrast to the luxury surrounding the rest of Madonna's birthday celebrations.
The location also featured in the 1981 James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only. Madonna based herself at a remote ancient villa in northern Corfu with its own harbor.
The Material Girl hitmaker organized a yacht excursion for her guests and spent a day celebrating at sea.
Her traveling party included boyfriend Akeem Morris, son Rocco Ritchie, and longtime friend and Swedish designer Bea Akerlund.
The celebrations continued with an outdoor dinner in the villa's grounds featuring traditional Greek cuisine, with a local band hired to provide entertainment.
Chart Success And Future Concert Plans

Madonna earned her thirteenth number-one album with 'Confessions II' this summer.MEGA
The birthday came during another successful year professionally for Madonna. Her album Confessions II became her 13th No. 1 album this summer.
Her collaboration with Kylie Minogue, Love Sensation, also reached No. 8 – giving Madonna her highest-charting single in 17 years.
Madonna is now considering locations for concerts in Britain as she looks toward another major run of live performances.
Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis has already ruled out an appearance by Madonna at the festival.
Eavis said: "It's definitely not Madonna."
Music industry sources have instead suggested the singer is considering three consecutive concerts at BST Hyde Park in London during summer 2027.
The proposed shows would provide another enormous stage for a performer whose career has stretched across more than four decades and who continues to combine new music and live performances with elaborate celebrations away from the spotlight.
