Dylan Sprouse says daughter Sylvie is beginning to recognize faces and laugh at his jokes

Sprouse supported Barbara Palvin as she returned to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show six weeks after giving birth

Palvin called early motherhood a roller coaster and praised Sprouse as a natural girl dad

Dylan Sprouse is one proud dad.

On Sunday, Oct. 18, the actor, 34, supported his wife, Barbara Palvin, as she walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show just six weeks after giving birth to their first baby together, daughter Sylvie. Ahead of the show, Sprouse shared with E! News that their little one is already hitting a few milestones.

“It’s really cute,” he shared. “Her eyesight’s clearing up, and so she’s starting to recognize faces a lot more.”

“She’s smiling and laughing at my jokes,” continued Sprouse. “Which is all a dad can really dream of.”

The Disney alum also joked that he’s become “desensitized” to bodily fluids and added that he doesn’t understand where his wife, Palvin, got the energy to take the runway stage again.

“I don’t know where she finds the energy,” said Sprouse. “I’m a tired guy all the time, and obviously having a newborn makes you more tired. Barbara’s just up and in super mom mode, and now she’s walking the show. I’m like, ‘Where does it come from?’”

“Some people are just better than other people,” he quipped. “I’m extremely proud of my wife. I’m excited to see what happens.”

Ahead of walking in the runway show, Palvin spoke with PEOPLE about what it was like to return to the stage just weeks after giving birth.

“I’m going to be six weeks postpartum tomorrow, which is, I think in the U.S., most people have to go back after six weeks. So it’s not that big of a deal,” said Palvin. “I’m feeling great. I think it’s very empowering that the Victoria’s Secret team is having me at the show and we’re supporting women.”

The new mom called the first few weeks of motherhood a “roller coaster” as she and Sprouse learn the ropes of parenting. She then gushed over her husband, saying he was meant to be a “girl dad.”

Sprouse and Palvin, who revealed their pregnancy news while attending the 79th Annual Cannes Film Festival on May 14, announced they had welcomed their daughter on Sept. 28.

They hinted she was born three weeks earlier, seemingly on Labor Day, Sept. 7, in the caption of their joint Instagram post.
