Bozoma “Boz” Saint John is speaking out after her career came into question during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion.
The reality star, 49, posted a video on Friday following part two of the latest reunion episode, which aired Thursday, April 23, where her tenure as a chief marketing officer (CMO) was discussed. In the clip, Saint John directly addressed host Andy Cohen over a moment she perceived as skepticism.
“Andy Cohen, come here. I'm calling you to the front of the class. Okay, did you really make this face when we were at The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion and were talking about this?” she said, before the video cut to footage from the reunion.
In that clip, Cohen, 57, questioned whether the CMO role is typically short-term. “It’s not meant to be for a long period of time?” he asked.
Saint John responded during the reunion, explaining the pressures of the position. “Usually it is intended to be a long time, but what happens is that a lot of times the blame of any company’s failure or its, you know, issues with the stock, falls on a CMO,” she said.
Returning to her video, Saint John suggested Cohen may not have been fully aware of the realities of the role. “Now I know you couldn't mean to have a skeptical look, right? Because there have been plenty of white papers and think pieces that have been written about the tenure of the CMO and the high pressure job that it is,” she said, as screenshots of articles about CMO tenure appeared on screen.
She also referenced a response Cohen shared on Threads after a viewer questioned his reaction. “Because every CMO I’ve worked with was more of a long term thing but what the hell do I know!” Cohen wrote in the screenshot shown in her video.

“I'm going to believe that you were simply unaware, but now you're aware,” Saint John continued. She then shifted the focus to broader perceptions about her career. “Okay, now everyone, while I have your attention, I don't want us to be distracted by this debate about whether or not I can keep a job.”
She went on to defend her track record and highlight disparities in corporate leadership. “Okay, but by the way, do you really think that billion dollar businesses would keep hiring a CMO who has a failing track record? No. And do you think I'd be placed in not one but two Hall of Fames, if I didn't do anything? No,” she said.
Saint John also pointed to what she described as a lack of representation in executive roles. “Of the approximately 329 to 346 Fortune 500 companies who have a senior marketing leader in the C-suite. Only 1% of those CMO roles are currently held by a Black woman,” she said, adding that only “three or four of those roles are filled by someone who looks like me.”

She continued, “So I hope that everyone who is skeptical is now aware of the disparity, the challenge and the incredible amount of fortitude it takes to achieve.”
In the video’s closing moments, Saint John referenced broader workforce trends, saying, “more than 300,000 Black women have been forced out of the workforce, not of their own volition,” before questioning, “Do you really think that this sounds fair? How can it be?”
The figures have not been independently verified by PEOPLE.
“So in closing, I quote from the great American poet… Lil Wayne,” she added, playing a clip of the rapper’s song "Steady Mobbin" while lip-syncing the lyric, “I’m the best to ever do it.”
She captioned the post: “I heard there’s a debate going on… 🤓💪🏿 And sending much love to EVERYONE who is doing their best in their job/career, regardless of the circumstances !!! Keep your head up!! I see you, boo!”
